Lincoln Townley reaffirms collector interest with his second appearance at Sotheby’s!

Lincoln Townley confirms his meteoric rise and growing interest from collectors and investors at the most prestigious auction house, Sotheby’s in New York, during the Day Contemporary Art auction held on November 19, 2021.

This marked his third appearance at auction, this time as part of the prestigious Day Live Auction, attended by leading global collectors and investors. The featured work was a mid-sized painting titled "Bacon’s Dance of the Macabre", referencing the legacy of Francis Bacon.

The auction result clearly confirmed the sustained demand for Lincoln’s works and reaffirmed his position as a rising star in the art market. With strong growth potential, he is increasingly attractive even to pragmatic art investors.

The final sale price of this piece, including buyer’s premium, was $277,200 (approx. CZK 6.24 million). After including VAT and shipping to the Czech Republic, the total cost would be around CZK 7.3 million.

Art experts agree that prices for Townley’s works are expected to continue rising.
We can realistically anticipate that a large-format painting may soon come to auction, potentially reaching the $1 million mark—an achievement that would firmly establish Lincoln Townley among the elite of the global art world.

It’s no surprise his works are in high demand—and we are proud to offer several of his exceptional pieces here at our gallery!
